I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas (but I got a wet one instead)

Seriously what is with all this rain? I know people outside of Southern California think we're giant wussies for complaining about five straight days of rain, but let me share with you some pictures. And then I'll get on to the Christmas part of this post.

This is Qualcomm stadium, where a bowl game between Navy and SDSU is to be played tonight. Yes, right there in the middle of that thing - the part that is completely covered in water. Mudbowl anyone? I would be excited to watch but my Steelers are playing tonight and well, they win over a bowl game any day. Hopefully they also win their game, but as per usual I'm not sure it's going to happen. Anyway, here's another shot of Qualcomm this time the parking lot.

I have some friends headed to the game tonight and their plan is to fill the back of a pick up truck with dirt (well, mud because really there is nothing dry here anymore) and make giant mudslides for tailgating. Yes, while San Diegans may not be used to rain we certainly know how to keep it classy while playing in it. (Should I have used a capital "K" there?)

Okay, onward and upward. It's CHRISTMAS! Yay! Want to know why I'm so excited? It's not because I'm amped about the stupendous gifts I will be giving (because quite frankly the TV my man wants can't be purchased without his expertise) it's because I am done with work for the year as of 4 pm today. Whee! That, and my man and I get Christmas Eve all to ourselves and will be able to start some traditions - the first of which is steak and red wine for dinner. We're so classy.
Speaking of traditions my family has been going to the Hotel Del Coronado to see the tree since the tree was actually a live tree. It is something that we just can't stop. It must be done. So, without further adieu I present to you the Sweetest Thing (or something like that, I forget what the theme was other than it was all the candy). I was super bummed that I a) didn't get a good photo of the adorable cupcake ornaments and b) went too late in the season to actually own one, but the tree was fabulous just the same. Oh, and so were the holiday delights down at Babcock and Story (also a family tradition since my first annual 21st birthday). I finally figured out what rumplminz was....and that it makes a darn good hot chocolate.

And just for good measure - The Grinch from the How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Old Globe theatre. Taken at Balboa Park December Nights.

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Goodnight! (And if you don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Belated Hannakuh, Happy Kwanza and air some grievances at Fesitvus with the rest of us). Much Love.

Now just let me introduce myself...

Okay so here's the deal. I'm a native San Diegan. I did manage to "escape" to LA for a brief stint, but quickly realized the error of my ways and returned. I have a job that I mostly love. I love this city. But, I also love the Steelers, the Penguins, and the Lakers. I'm going to start loving the Yankees due to the Padres annoying me with their trades and having a significant other that is a born and bred NYer.

Sometimes, I plan to write about San Diego and things to do here. Sometimes I plan to just randomly blurt stuff out because it's in my head. My head sometimes is odd. For example, I tend to think in song lyrics. Those that have studied Myers Briggs (or some other similar personality test) know that means I fall into the S category. Those that don't just think I'm odd.

At any rate, if you read this and have a good time with it. Great. If you don't have a good time, that's fine too - just tell me and I'll work on that for you.

Also, please note I had a different blog where I posted some stuff San Diego related, I will likely plagarize myself once or twice when my mind wants some time off.
